The Saxon House of Wessex started with Cerdic, King of Wessex, in 519 and lasted off and on until Edward the Confessor, who died in January 1066. Saxon rule ended with the Nor-man invasion led by King William the Conqueror.

SAXON

2 ounces rum

¼ ounce lime juice

¼ ounce grenadine

Add ice and water to a cocktail glass to chill the glass. Add ice to the tin side of a Boston shaker. In the mixing glass, add rum, lime juice, and grenadine. Pour the contents of the mixing glass into the iced tin and secure the glass to the tin. Shake the contents until the ice sounds different and the contents are cold. Open the Boston shaker. Empty the cocktail glass, then strain the contents of the shaker into the empty glass. Serve.
